One day last week, The Daughter and I went to some of the smaller thrift shops around looking for. oh, just whatever we could find.
This sign, from the store pictured above, was the most interesting thing we saw: Oh, dear!.La Cieneguilla, Southwest of airport, Santa Fe, NM.
La Cieneguilla, Southwest of airport, Santa Fe, NM.I was, however, quite surprised to find that the creatures upon which the movie were based are apparently real rare, but real. I am referring, of course, to the Graboids, the ravening, monstrous, carnivorous worms, and their other incarnations, the Shriekers, and the Ass Blasters. There is, however, a petroglyph panel at La Cieneguilla, south of Santa Fe, New Mexico, that convincingly portrays Shriekers. The movie Tremors, was supposedly filmed in California, and was fictional from beginning to end. Early this morning, some fool decided he wanted to steal an ATM machine from a Chase Bank location in Plano, Texas. Police used the ATM's GPS tracking system to find the thief. When the suspect would not stop, spike strips were used to end the chase.
E.M. Decision Making Under UncertaintyPaper details To save on gasoline expenses, Edith and Mathew agreed to carpool together for traveling to and from work. Edith agreed that in case of traffic jams, Shea Boulevard was a reasonable alternative. Neither of them knows the state of the highway ahead of time. Please, show all your calculations and explain your answers. Needless to say, she was shocked, and the doctor agreed to administer fluids which might increase the blood volume enough to raise the pressure to a level supportive of life. Luckily, the fluids worked and he lived through the night, but the issue of what "DNR" really means was raised. The next morning, when I learned of these calls to my patient's wife and heard that medications had not been used due to his DNR status, I was non-plussed, and immediately contacted the primary physician, who could also not believe what he was hearing. Sheriff’s Office dispatchers would like to remind the public not to let children play with cell phones. Recently, a small child called Sheriff’s dispatchers repeatedly during the course of a day, needlessly tying up phone lines and taking up dispatchers time. It was apparent to dispatchers she was playing with a cell phone belonging to an adult but she was too young for dispatchers to find out who she was, where she was calling from, or to convince her to find and adult. “But it is important for everyone to understand that cell phones aren’t a toy and should not be used as such. “People think if a phone is deactivated it won’t make any calls at all, but that isn’t true. Recently we had lunch at the waterfront in Walker, Minnesota. It was fun to watch the sailboats zip back and forth. Chance loved watching the Seagulls. I was taking some photographs for a photography challenge, so while Far Guy walked Chance I got some time to just be one with the scenery. We weren't the only people that found this tucked away spot to picnic and watch the water, a really elderly couple pulled in and proceeded to recline their seats and have an afternoon nap. It didn't take long for them to doze off and begin to snore they must have been pretty tired. Oh yes I was tempted to take a photograph. but I didn't. Tolbert: thinking out loud now. This is the run-up to a central planning board for gasoline pricing. For those who didn't remember their Marxist/Leninist basics, that means the government determines what a "fair" price should be without relation to supply and demand. Supply is "mandated" by government decree which is patently absurd in the case of oil which is the prerequisite for gasoline and sold in the open market by uncontrolled producers to a rapidly developing Asian marketplace. Demand is "controlled" by government through rationing which prescribes how much you will be allocated from the mandated supply which doesn't exist in the first place. Mr. President, Americans drive vehicles powered by gasoline. We choose our vehicles based upon our needs. If we need an SUV because we live in mountains where it snows, we will buy one. Don't you just love the map?. It is our hope that this blog will embody both the "mirth and matter" that we encounter each day, from the solemn to the silly. Feel free to purge any thoughts you've been having lately onto the virtual page and we'll get a conversation going. One of my dear friends Abby Powell, who is an amazing film photographer, recently asked me to be a curator for a new set of her bookmarks, which I'm excited to announce are now available right here! I chose four of Abby's photographs that I thought would look good as a set and I am so happy with the result- they look beautiful. Life is a mixture of successes and failures.
